INTRODUCTION
The grab ship loader crane is a bulk material loading machine designed to transfer coal, ore, grain, cement clinker, and other granular materials from shore storage onto barges or ocean‑going vessels. It combines a slewing pedestal‑mounted crane with a dedicated clamshell grab and a feeding hopper/conveyor system. The crane grabs material from stockpiles, swings over the ship’s hold, and releases the load. Lifting capacity typically ranges from 5t to 40t per grab, with loading rates of 300‑2,500 t/h. It is ideal for ports, terminals, and inland waterways where mobile, flexible ship loading is required without a fixed conveyor tower.
